The financially struggling California Republican Party received hefty donations from powerful special interests in late filings reported last night ttp://cal-access.sos.ca.gov/PDFGen/pdfgen.prg?filingid=1473416&amendid=0.

Included was a cool $500,000 this year from Jerry Perenchio, one of the largest givers in the state. Perenchio is the former CEO and chair of Univision, the Spanish-language television station.

Also providing $50,000 in donations to the GOP was Wal-Mart, according to  the Secretary of State. The GOP also received $20,000 from RSI, the parent company of Reynolds Tobacco.
