KCBS: State Watches AIG Impact on California. In focus: "AIG owns 25 insurance companies in the state, covering everything from auto insurance to homeowner's insurance to worker's compensation."

Reuters: California Air Board says there's dollars in green. In focus: "California's landmark legislation to cut carbon dioxide emissions to 1990 levels by 2020 will help the state's economy in the long run, according to a report issued on Wednesday by the state agency charged with implementing the cuts."

Sacramento Bee: 2008 Ballot Watch: Proposition 12: Veterans Bond Act of 2008. In focus: "For the 27th time since 1922, California voters will be asked to authorize bonds for a program that makes low-interest home loans to California veterans."

Los Angeles Times: Southern California home sales rise in August, but prices sink.
