Newt Gingrich, Adulterer Extraordinaire, Appears in Yes on Prop 8 Video

It's a good thing people like former Speaker Newt Gingrich are out there protecting marriage from people like former Speaker Newt Gingrich (h/t Calitics):

"Earlier this year, four judges overruled the will of the people and declared the law that protects marriage unconstitutional. ... On November 4th, the people can overrule the judges and undue what they did. They can vote yes on Proposition 8 to restore California's longstanding history of protecting marriage."

Oh wait? You mean Prop 8, which would ban committed gay and lesbian couples from marrying their life partners, doesn't stop Gingrich from divorcing his cancer stricken wife to marry another person, who he cheated on and divorced to marry his mistress? If marriage needs protecting, it seems Prop 8 should hardly be on the front line of this battle, and Gingrich is among America's least qualified representatives to make the case. But under the new math of the conservative evangelical movement, adultery and abandoning sick wives are less offensive acts than loving couples wanting to see their commitments recognized by the state.
