Update: The Endowment Launches $6 Million Pro-Health Reform Campaign, the Largest to Date

July 31, 2007 @ 12:10 PM

According to Dr. Robert K. Ross, President and CEO of The California Endowment, this new campaign -- launching tomorrow on television, print and Internet media in all major markets -- will invest an impressive $6 million over six weeks on spreading the message of the urgent need for comprehensive statewide health care reform this year. The campaign will run through September 14, the final week of legislative session.

That makes this the largest such campaign to date by any organization on either side of the health care reform debate. Take that, Blue Cross.

Dr. Ross singled out, among others, Senate President Perata and Assembly Speaker Nunez for their leadership moving the health care reform ball this far and said these ads will help "promote an environment for meaningful progress." They should also put certain legislators who shall remain nameless (rhymes with "deaf venom") on notice that they will be held to account if health reform craters in the face of continued hyperpartisan wing-nut obstructionism.
