Boston Herald: Newsom leads crowd of possible California gubernatorial candidates in Denver. In focus: "Democratic political consultant Garry South, who has signed on with Newsom, said gubernatorial hopefuls are also inspired by the attention they receive at the national convention and the chance to schmooze with wealthy donors from around the country."

Associated Press: Bill requires public review before pest spraying. In focus: "It was in response to the Schwarzenegger administration's aborted plans to use aerial spraying to control the light brown apple moth in the San Francisco and Monterey areas."

Sacramento Business Journal: California insurance commissioner pushes for green car insurance option. In focus: "Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner said Wednesday he’s planning to make a new green automobile insurance option, known as "pay-as-you-go," available to California drivers as early as the fall of next year by proposing new regulations that will make the new option feasible."

In focus: "The Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday fined a California hedge fund manager and newsletter publisher $100,000 over claims he misled people into investing $20 million in two fraudulent real estate firms."

Gay and Lesbian Times: Manchester Grand Hyatt loses two more conferences. In focus: "A coalition of labor leaders and same-sex marriage supporters last month launched a boycott of the Manchester Grand Hyatt, which is owned by Douglas Manchester, who donated $125,000 to qualify Proposition 8, a November ballot initiative that would ban same-sex marriage in California."
