Targeted by National GOP, McNerney nearing $300K in Campaign Funds

The National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC) is launching another round of attacks at freshman Congressman Jerry McNerney, including 100,000 emails into his district to be followed by an aggressive attack ad campaign. The Stockon Record provides the details today.

"Jerry McNerney needs to explain to his constituents why his voting record is identical to that of the San Francisco Speaker Nancy Pelosi," NRCC spokesman Ken Spain said. "His voters didn't send him to be liberal lap dog of the Democrat Party. If Jerry McNerney is so interested in representing the liberal interests of San Francisco voters, then maybe he should have considered running for office there."

Talk about your tired Republican tricks: linking McNerney to San Francisco liberals.

To his credit, McNerney is going to be well prepared for the boatload of negativity that national Republicans are already throwing at him. Last time I checked, his website reports more than $278,000 raised as it tries to make its $300,000 goal by Saturday.
