Asian American Small Business PAC Hires New Political Director
The Asian-American political community -- with its new political clout from November's election -- has named a major player to spearhead its efforts in the state. The Asian American Small Business Political Action Committee is a non-partisan political action committee that identifies and supports candidates running for state and local offices who demonstrate a commitment to improving the economic and regulatory climate for Asian American small business owners and entrepreneurs.
The Asian American Small Business Political Action Committee (AASB-PAC) was officially established in June 2005. In 2006, AASB PAC expended nearly a quarter of a million dollars to help elect an unprecedented number of Asian American candidates for legislative and constitutional offices in California. AASB efforts supported the successful election of candidates like Assembly Member Mike Eng, Assembly Member Fiona Ma, Board of Equalization Member Judy Chu, Board of Equalization Member Michelle Park Steel, Board of Equalization Member Betty Yee, and State Controller John Chiang.
