CMR Welcomes New Editor and Los Angeles-Based Majority Reporter Andrea Adleman

January 28, 2007 @ 8:27 PM
Jason Kinney We at the CMR are prepared to grudgingly admit that, while it is My Own Private Idaho for those who are bigger fans of Willie Brown than Willie Mays, Sacramento is not, in fact, the center of the universe. And, so, with as much enthusiasm as a bunch of cynical political hacktivists can muster, we are pleased to introduce a new Editor to our virtual newsroom -- LOS ANGELES-BASED political commentator Andrea Adleman.

Andrea has been working and writing about politics since elementary school when she began barnstorming Equal Rights Amendment rallies (while, at the same, tender age, I was leading a local grass-roots effort in support glue eating, but I digress). She’s served as a Press Aide for then-Assembly Speaker Antonio Villaraigosa, as a staffer for the AFL-CIO and SEIU, both national and locals, as a coordinated campaigner for the California Democratic Party and the California League of Conservation Voters and as an intern for LA Weekly. She’s a five-term elected member of two Los Angeles city neighborhood councils and the founder and past president of the San Pedro Democratic Club in the Los Angeles Harbor Area.

We look forward to reading her dispatches from the place where Hollywood and "Hollywood for ugly people" come together.
